I think the key to making a city more livable, such as my city of Philadelphia, is not by starting with big issues, but by smaller things.

August 5, 2008Building Community: 500 turn out for free “Pig Party”, Celebrating the Third Anniversary of High Point Cafe
July 9, 2008The High Point Cafe 3rd Anniversary – a Community Building event by Pamela Rogow.
Three years ago,
Meg Hagele opened the High Point Cafe in Mt. Airy Village, across from Weavers Way Co-op, Henry School and the Moving Arts studio. The cafe is primarily a coffee bar with a range of fresh pastries—baked on site daily–plus organic crepes and salad. Instantly popular from the day it opened, the cafe helped to catalyze growth at an already vibrant intersection. Since then, the Big Blue Marble Bookstore, Maternal Wellness Center, Environmental Home Store, Springboard Studio and Eco Impresario Services opened nearby.
Social Engineering at The High Point Cafe
June 25, 2008Unclear how we ever lived without The High Point Cafe. The High Point Cafe is located in the center of West Mt Airy. Great pastry, coffee, and ambiance. Part of the coziness is that it’s a tiny space. Since it’s booming, this can become frustrating, but enlarging isn’t an option and moving could kill the whole thing, since it’s near Weavers Way, Maternity Wellness Center, The Big Blue Marble independent bookstore, Environmental Home Store, and 2 yoga studios – all the necessities of a proper progressive lifestyle.
